Accommodation Rules and Helpful Information |

In accordance with other central reservations offices in the country, we have had to initiate the following Rules and regulations which must be strictly adhered to in terms of your booking through DULLSTROOM RESERVATIONS. ARRIVAL DATESPlease check your dates on your confirmation forms. Dullstroom Reservations will not be held responsible should there be a discrepancy on arrival BANKSWe have a small FNB Branch and ATM, as well as an ABSA ATM BREAKAGE DEPOSITTo avoid paying a breakages or damages deposit, we request that all guests complete the attached Credit Card Authorisation Form prior to the collection of your keys. These forms can be completed on check in, but no keys will be authorised for collection without these forms. Any form of neglect or negligence with regard to your (or any member within your party) will be billed immediately to your credit card. CHECK IN and CHECK OUT PROCEDURES.Please adhere to the check in and check out times as per your confirmation. Special arrangements can only be made for an early check-in or late check-out 24 hours prior to arrival through the reservations office. There can be no lenience regarding these times during peak season. A Fine of 50% of daily tariff will be charged for late check-outs. Guests not checked in through the reservations office in advance of arrival will constitute an “Unpaid” party and is subject to a fine of 1.5 x of the actual cost per person. DIRECTIONS, GPS COORDINATES and MAPSDirections and maps are forwarded with all confirmations. Some venues do have GPS Co-ordinates, but we have found that clients are often sent on gravel roads, which are not recommended routes for all vehicles. Please refer to our directions when planning your trip or call the contact numbers on your confirmations to check condition of the roads and preferred routes with venue owners. DOCTORS, HOSPITALS and PHARMACIESWe do have a local pharmacy that is open 7 days a week (Tel: 0132540407) There is no local Doctor, but we do have a list of Doctors numbers in Lydenburg (63km fm Dullstroom) and Belfast (33km fm Dullstroom) FISHINGVenues offering fishing facilities have strict rules of conduct with regard to NO SPINNERS. Only fly-fishing tackle is allowed. This can be hired from a variety of fishing shops in the village. Guests found using other equipment are subject to fining or being asked to leave the venue. INVENTORY LISTSPlease check your inventory lists on arrival to ensure you are not charged for incorrect placements on your departure – should you need to report any other maintenance issues, please contact the management services whose details are on your confirmation form. On departure the unit must be left in a reasonable state of cleanliness. Excessive cleaning left for staff with be charged to your credit card at an additional rate of R200.00 Please refrain from making excessive noise after 22h00 if you are located within close proximity to other guests. PETSPets not booked in through the reservations office in advance will also be subjected to a fine of R100 per pet. (It should be noted that not all venues allow pets. There are kennels in Dullstroom 013 2540975) SMOKINGSmoking is prohibited in public areas! Some venues have allocated ashtrays to outside areas, but guests may not smoke within the venue. Additional charges will be administered where this is contravened. TRAFFIC, WEATHER and NEWSA new independent radio station was launched in Mpumalanga a few years ago Mpower fm (106.4fm) broadcasts local traffic information, weather and news on the region. They also play a good selection of music. Tune in from Witbank if coming from Gauteng. WHAT TO BRINGMost self-catering venues are equipped with linen, towels all kitchen appliances and soap and toilet paper. You should bring the following: ClothingDullstroom is prone to 4 seasons in a day, so pack well for summer and winter months. In summer months (September-March) one can expect some rain and mist. Bring wellies, and raincoats for walking.The sun can be harsh at high altitude so also bring sun tan lotion and hats for protection. In winter months (April – August) dress warmly. Our temperatures often drop below zero, and we sometimes even get SNOW! Come prepared with winter woollies, beanies, scarves, gloves, coats etc. GroceriesWe have a few grocery stores in town, but they can be expensive and will not have the choice available in bigger cities. We suggest you do most of your shopping en route. There is a liquor store in town open Mon – Saturday 9-5pm, be prepared to pay a little more. Millies Trout sell a selection of fresh trout and prepared trout dishes. Several venues sell pastries, jams, biltong, breads, cakes etc. Braaing/BarbecuesMost venues supply a bundle of wood. Please bring your own charcoal, lighters or matches. NB: Dullstroom winters present a fire hazard. Please take care when entertaining outdoors. ElectricityMost venues have electricity supply while some have gas facilities. We suggest guests bring torches when travelling as weather conditions can cause power outages. WaterOur Dullstroom municipal water is tested regularly and is fine for cooking and bathing. We suggest guests drink bottled water as purifying levels may differ from those that you are used to. On farms and venues outside of town borehole water is the norm. This can be slightly off-colour but is potable. Vehicle sparesWe suggest you check your spare tyres especially when travelling on gravel roads. There are also pot-holes on many of the regional and national roads.We have a small service station for emergency supplies only, so it is best to come prepared. |
